I have heard some recent recordings that I found to have very good production, depends on what you listen to I guess. Check out Beck - Sea Change (Produced by Nigel Goodrich who also does all the Radiohead stuff), anything by Gomez, even the latest Blink 182 album has some decent production (even if you don't like the music). Jurassic 5 has great production also....

Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow is a fantastic sounding album, too.

well, the whole problem with the 'righteous' file-sharers is that they are inherently right-on..

Recording Industry made the switch from Vinyl to Tape around 20 years ago, and basically, you couldnt buy a vinyl recording of a 'new' album a few years after that.....so every 'older' audiophile who has tons of records, has to go out and either begin to collect Tapes, or re-purchase aLL their albums on tape...
Then, about 10 years ago, the Tape becomes obsolete, and the CD gets HUGE....no arguement here over SQ of CD's/Tapes/Vinyl, but the principle is still that the 'collector', the guy who bought 1000's of $4 vinyl records in the 1970s, was then forced to buy Tapes instead, at 10 bucks a pop...then CD's come along, and a CD costs $20 a pop...
so as the media gets 'better' you pay for it regardless....while the industry ceases to sell the 'old, obsolete' technology, MAINLY because it is more expensive for them to produce, and their profit margin is smaller.

So until I see recording artists buying food for the 40% of children in the US that are living in 3rd world conditions, while the majority of artists spend millions on cars and homes, and Jack Valenti and the bigwigs spend billions exploiting these same artists, I give a big F.U to the recording industry....my 2 cents..
(obviously, I respect some artists and would pay to see them, but I am not going to shell out my money to support 90% of the CRAP out there today)

anyhoo, meh, this is an endless debate...
Why doesnt someone continue the fight for the Recording Industry to pay back all the old Black blues artists that it stole from to build its foundations, in the first place....and why dont the artists realize they can make more money WITHOUT the bigwigs...oh well, ignorance is bliss
(turtles in anticipation of the flames to come)

Til R.Kelly gives Jelly Roll his due, screw em all

Mp3 will NEVER die now...companies like Rio for instance, and every other company that has spent money developing an mp3 player, wont let it die. They arent going to les the recording industry take money from their pockets.

If Sony , Panasonic, RCA, etc accept ANY medium, as they have with MP3's, Ty is right.

These companies, at some point in their product development, I am sure would have to examine the impact their products would have on their status as 'facilitators' of the Recording Industry.

Sony, for example, has a HUGE Recording division. So while the execs at Sony Music are witch-hunting MP3's, SOny Tech is developing MP3 players for cars, home stereo, protable, etc, and making tons of cash off their sales.
Talk about double-dipping...

until 50 Cent comes on TV and shows me the African village he built with the money everyone paid when they bought his CD, I'm off to P2P land
(flawed reasoning , or reasoning flawed?...hehe)
