Mp3's an advantage to high end audio?

True,
Obviously, the 'bigwigs' exploit the artists just as much, probably even more, than downloaders exploit the industry...
The sad part is that for the most part the artists didnt realize this, up until a few years ago when artists really began to create their own record labels, etc...
Its a parasitic industry in general.

I don't know what the beef with MP3's are. I think they sound great! As long as they are encoded in 192 or higher. The human ear can barely detect quality differences in 192kbps and cd quality. UNLESS, you have like an SQ application in your car or house with like 12 speakers doing all the highs and lows. I listen to my mp3's on my home system and then my normal CD's and I think they both sound excellent. So all the moaning about MP3's not sounding good really sounds odd to me. I dunno, maybe it is just me but I think they sound fantastic!!!

I still buy CDs...
The only reason I have MP3s is to use in my portable player when I go to the gym.. Very few MP3s sound as good as CD audio IMO, I can almost always tell the difference unless the sampling rate is >192KHz

I buy cds too but I dl a song or two first to get a taste of the cd and if I like it I'll buy it but if I don't then I just delete it oh yeah and when I get a cd I rip it onto my computer and use my computer to play the songs

I jave yet to hear an MP3 that sounded as good as a CD. Now when I offer this challenge to all the computer geeks I get to pick the system. And lets say that sure there may be no difference on some systems, but on the setup I use there is.
Recording quality has nothing to do with artists not being able to afford good recording because of MP3, it has to do with marketing, when people buy ****ty little 3" cube speakers on their computers and for home theaters, recording engineers will make the music sound good on it. Unfortunately people actually think those crappy little speakers sound good, so it's all their fault. Next time you meet someone with crappy little 3" speakers (even ones costing $1,000 ) punch them in the face and say, that's from DWVW for ruining music.
