im not saying u are wrong or someone else is right. but u got to face the fact that **** does happen regardless of careful or what not a person might be. a dog might escape and at the same time some guy can get mad at his wife and give her 30 stabbing wounds, claim insanity and get off.

WOW the ignorance in this thread is astounding.
No one is saying that pit-bulls or any dog for that matter are not dangerous or violent.
What the people who are against the ban are arguing is that the ban itself is the wrong way to solve the problem.
Open your eyes people.

Second, I own guns, most of my friends own guns, I've never had a gun go off for no apperent reason. I've only EVER heard of them going off due to stupidity.
Same goes with animals. Some animals have a violent instinct that with proper training will not ever be a problem......I've been bitten by MANY cats, and I know other people have too, so lets put a ban on cats, hows that sound? Yea, about as stupid as this pitbull ban.

i think bottom line is that meat heads get these dogs as status symbols or extensions of there *****
things happen they attack maim kill and people become sick of it and feel a need to do something about it
is it the dogs fault no its there instinct
defend and protect
so because of these people who feel they need a powererfull menacing dog
these dog are being banned
and its only a matter of time before more and more breeds are added to this
i see how yes these dogs are great pets can be loving and affectionate i won't take that away
its the ones that attack other peoples pets dead or people with awfull scars
and unfortualty the way it works is that if you can't fix the owner you fix the dog

sure an elevator can fall down the shaft. i've seen it happen and ppl did die.
u have guns b/c u have permits/license to have them. if they/you missfire then its all on you, not the gun. same should be done with these dogs. get a permit for one and if it snaps its all on you, not the dog.
