Satellite Radio dec 7th?
I'm sure there will still be a market for US activated units in Canada. Both services plan on blocking some channels to Canada for CanCon issues. I certainly don't want the CRTC to have any influence on me. My Sirius tuner is payed for LIFETIME on US.

</font>[/QUOTE]Like most things Canadians, I'll just try to ignore it. Honestly, it really doesn't mean a thing.I'm hoping that my subscription stays exactly the way it is. I occassionally do hear a canadian band on XM already. Logically it makes sense, in a country where the population is roughly a tenth that of the states, proportionatly, we'll probably only have about a tenth of music that is actually worth listening to (irregardless of your musical taste). I expect as many good Canadian bands as I do good bands to come out of Texas. Why should I have a mandatory 40% canadian content? There isn't enough good music to go around... it's mostly a bunch of woman's rights dykes whining about some bull**** anyways.
who said anythign abotu 40% canadian . its actualy 10 % canadian content last time i checked which is not bad at all.
man everyoen is complaining now that we have it. seems liek no mater what people arnt happy.
be happy we have it now !

I've heard it's even less than 10%! Canadian Satellite Radio (XM) I believe has stated they will have 70+ music channels, 30+ news, sports, talk, entertainment channels including 8 all-Canadian music, talk, news, sports, entertainment channels (4 English & 4 French).
Also, for those of you who live near the border here in BC, American satellite drops out far too often to make it listenable. I'm looking forward to Canadian Satellite Radio (XM) & their repeaters so that I can actually receive a constant signal & get their "early adopter" discounted rate in Canadian dollars!
