I see lots of american plate on the front of vehicles here. Even seen this Dakota around my neighboorhood with Tennesse plate onthe back and a decal of a local dealer???

 

In alberta is doesn't matter what your front license plate is. They only issue you 1 plate, which is to be placed at the rear of the vehicle. You can even have the plate in your back window, as long as it is visible.

This is clearly a young cop wanting to abuse his new found power. I would be asking the court to make them pay for damages incurred, as well as having the plate he wrecked, replaced with the exact same one. Good luck if they can find that.

Also if you state that the plate has sentimental value that cannot be replaced, they are more than likely to give a cash payout of more than the plate was worth.

Now profiling is a defense and a good one. If one guy gets pulled over and another doesnt... God help the cop if the guy that gets pulled over is a minority... maybe you could work the youth angle?

that happened in here (in calgary) that's crazy...i know that most of the guys in my VW club all have euro plates on the front of thier cars and they don't have problems (me included). but if a cop was to do that to my car i would have to say he's a little off his rocker. i would fight it for sure.
