a 1x rule of thumb is 20-25$
40-50$ for 2x-3x

a 1x isnt that expensive to put on, and if u got a mic, you dont need to pay anyone to put it on. I have gone to a few shows in saskatoon, we did just certificates and stuff. I had fun as competing is competing to me. I dunno what BC like this upcoming season for DBDRAG though. Are ppl points chasing or going IASCA or USACI whats going on>>/

Everything is just getting too expensive....... in order to be competitive, you have to have mega sponsor backing, or own a grow-op to finance you. Erin and I spent close to $10,000 last year, with equipment, gas, lodging, food, and entry fees. Keep in mind this is not including the cost of our vehicles.

the avarage joe does not have 10 g's to throw around, and western canada does not have enough competitors to hold alot of big shows, so driving MANY hours to an event happens quite often. and it's usually to a single point---thus meaning you have to go to MORE events just to get enough points to get to worlds.

As far as db drag, chances are we'll have to drive twice as far to worlds as last season, plus entry fees, plus hotels, plus food, etc. with out sponsors again this year, I just can't afford another 10 g's.

a new tv would be nice, but as for myself, I am already looking for new places to put trophies............you can only beat the same people so many times before it starts to get boring. That's where finals comes into place, you have a new goal. to beat the best. It is just unfortunate that the best have alot of financial backing. But in order to get to finals, you need points. you can't get points without santioned events.

It's about the trophies!!!??? Not a lot of people are going for points...I think?
i think newcomers really like trophies and competition itself. I personally think dbdrag is the way to go over iasca for the following reasons.

first and foremost..dbdrag has bassrace....which is extremely competitive and a $500 system can beat a $5000 system..its all about system control.

secondly dbdrag has head to head eliminations. I personally find this a lot more competitive having to physically see the person beside you that you need to compete against rather than doing your best number and guessing at the end where you placed.

Thirdly, the sanctioning fees are dirt dirt cheap for a single point dbdrag. I believe its $100 usd. Albeit we have a great group of stores who are more interested in bringing the passion back to the 12 volt industry rather than making a profit...Im sure the sanctioning fee difference may add up over the course of a whole year if you were to put on 3 shows and save $500 in fees per show. Thats money saved or money that could be put towards better trophies, prizes etc

Finally, those of us hardcores planning to go to finals can get our points. Points requirements will also recruit more competitors from farther away to the shows rather than it being the same core group of cars every competition. Personally I think every competition without the crazy Albertans just isnt the same. They have the majority of the louder vehicles in western canada and the majority of the SPL knowledge-base to help urge newcomers in the right direction.

definitely great to see dates posted this early. Gives us all a lot of time to prepare and make the necessary arrangements. Your organization is muchly appreciated.

I agree that dbdrag is the way to go. If there is NO sanctioning its kinda a worthless show, if u look at it from a points prospective. Worlds is fun, and you cant get there without points! Its 100$ to put on 1x's so there no reason not to. It a great sanction, and it always fun. If all your doing is basically havin a show to give away

" .its about the prizes, free stuff, trophies and in the case of our shows....maybe winning a 50" plasma...."

Thats NOT supporting 12volt, thats giving junk away!
