Also, all the "whining babies" did go somewhere else.

And then Future Shop had probably the weakest turn out at any car audio event in Calgary's history.

You do the math.
And you think that is a good thing ???

If someone is going to complain about shows just cause they don't like the rules or that it isn't DB Drags.......stop for a moment and think about why there are hardly any shows out there................you really think retailers want to put their hard earned money into shows for little premadonna SPLers that don't spend a penny in their stores and have their name dragged thru the mud ???

Next time a show sucks, try calling up the retailer and asking if there is something that YOU can help out with next time to make it a better show instead of jumping on the internet and barking off about how bad it was...........
</font>
What's with all the name calling....it was a dead issue IMHO.

I just ask that you please know what your talikng about before posting about old news. Thank you, and have a nice day.

Seeing as how I am involved in the HOB program at Future Shop I do know what I am talking about and I wasn't the one that brought it up.

Also my point was in general and not just that particular show.

I do know what I am talking about </font>
I find it sad that the people running these shows don't care if people go away feeling it wasn't a fairly run show, and don't even know why they feel this way. That really makes me wanna run out to future shop and buy something.

Sorry that name calling get's under my skin when it's directed towards people i know, and myself. That's not the way i like to settle an argument. I'm not commenting on this issue anymore. **** it

Actually we do care and that is why after that big show in Calgary some people from our Head Office came on here to find the problem. They asked for idea's and help and got hardly any response.

What are they supposed to do ? Damned if they do, damned if they don't...............

You want better shows.......step up....help out....share idea's......

You guys have to realize that HOB is a fairly new competition medium..YES there will be problems in the start..YES some people wont like it. What is bitching on the internet going to do about it? You dont like how a show was run? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! Call your local future shop. Hell, call head office! You are the people they are trying to please. They cant please you if they dont know what YOU want. The competitions OBVIOUSLY arent for the big dogs. They are there to try and turn the little guys INTO the big dogs, and for people to have fun. No one had fun when people whine and cry, ESPECIALLY at a show. If you dont like how something was run, freaking out at the show isnt going to get you anywhere. Deal with is properly. In the middle of the competition is neither the proper place, nor time.

If there is something you dont like about HOB, Change it! Contact future shop, and let your opinion/suggestions be heard, and bear with them for a couple of seasons. It takes time to work out all the bugs.

Tim - my only thing about HOB comps is out East I don't feel they really enforced the rules here.. other than that, they were great.. I guess maybe define the rules a little more, try to get rid of some grey areas..

I hate to say it, but I have been to two HOB shows, and both I have not competed in, not because the rules were not "db drag" but because the rules were not enforced, and the judges made exceptions for some, and not for others. The nature of the shows was good, but the competition was not.

Tim, if you would like some suggestions, please post up the rules that will be used for the HOB shows, and you will get a large amount of suggestions and unbiased advice on how the rules could be improved.

Personally, I would use the same types of classifications as db drag, but lean towards street setups.

I like the idea of the ultimate class, because it gives the street systems a chance to shine.
For the rest, I would like to see maybe power divisions instead of # of subs divisions, because power is generally a more equal method of determining class.
Although there may be some difference, a person can have 1200 watts on one 15" sub, 2 tens, or even 8 eights and still be within 3 db of each other. This way people with 1500 watts on a 15" subs will not be competing against people with 200 watts and a 10".
Maybe have &lt;300 watts, 300-600, 600-1500, and &gt;1500 watts. I think that would be more fair than going by number of subs.
The only reason db drag does not go by power is because companies would change their ratings just to cheat, but HOB is smaller and doesnt have to worry about that.

I would be glad to help out with any shows in calgary, and I am sure if you posted a couple weeks before the show started, other people from the board would help too. The judges were the worst thing from what I could see because they would not judge fairly and would not admit they were wrong. I would gladly help judge if it was required, because fair judging and firm rules will give people a better idea of what SPL is really like.
