obviously you don't have much power....lol

seriously, even glued boxes deteriorate over time. I reccomend coating inside with resin, and outside with some sort of a sealant.

I'd go with ebay. the chances of finding ANYONE to build you a huge carpeted box, made to your specs, and tuned is unrealistic. Just because someone likes an ebay box, does not make it quality. I am sure you know first hand there's ALOT of people around that think they are king **** of turd island when it comes to stereos, but really don't know the first thing about quality. Notice your neighbors kid playing bungada(sp??) party in his car?? it's all distorted and sounds like a wet fart, but the kid driving will tell you it's awesome...see my point????

my honest opinion is to go to a repitable shop that offers a warranty. pay a little more and be satisfied. don't cheap out. you'll regret it. for the extra $100 you'd probably pay, it might set you back a month to scounge it up.... if you buy a $200 box and are displeased, then it'll take you ALOT longer to save up to buy the box you originally passed up...

perfect example....pyramid....cheap yes, quality no
digital designs...expenise?? very much so, but rated one of the best companies of all time....

You guys are wasting your time. This guy has read stuff online - he knows what he's talking about... Nobody's time is worth money.

lol @ all the idiots coming in here giving me advice I do not want. I simply asked if anybody knew somebody that made boxes cheap. I simply do not want to give my hard earned money to somebody for building me a square box with holes in it, thats how you go poor. Makes no sense when I could get somebody to build it cheaper. Sure it may not be the best but it'll get the job done.

Also you understand that I'm reading that I should get a box made from somebody known ONLINE, right? lol...

*Waits for you to ban me because I was being "disrespectful" but we both know it was because you caught feelings*

They aren't idiots, a lot of them are/were top competitors who have been doing this for 10+ years.

The going rate for a custom ported box is $250-$350. Bassworx boxes aren't bad, they use rabbit joints and other good building techniques, which can be had for $100. If you're using a whole lot of power than it'll most likely break, because they use mostly 3/4" MDF. They're great for daily.

Yeah I know that was a little childish, but I hate when people subliminally call me an idiot, especially when I have said I am not looking for the best box, just something decent, and not prefabricated. I have other priorities right now that are more important like university and textbook fees. I can always sell and upgrade down the road. Right now a good custom box will do. I have no desire to compete and if I do it'll just be to get measured.

what is wrong with 3/4 MDF? the box I'm looking at right now the guy uses it, but it says hand made if that matters lol.
