Amp for a 12W7?

Hey im sort of new to the whole scene so this might sound like a nOObish question so here goes....

I got a 12W7 in a JL sealed pro wedge box for a really good deal, but now i need an amp for it. now on the JL site it says its a 3ohm sub :s
I want to power it to its potential so i want a minimum of 750W going to it.

Now does that mean i have to find an amp that will push at lest 750W rms at 3ohm's?

Any help would be appreciated,
thanks

you need a big amp with alot of power to make that 12w7 happy. something that cheap probably won't satisfy it.

check the for sale section, a thread titled JL Audio

i agree...very unlikely you'll find a amp in that range to get the most out of those subs. but the amp i would put on them is the alpine PDX 1000.1. they go used (if people wanna part with them lol) for around $500 depending on your location.

if u look around for a ultimate t3 1000d you CAN find them for 2-300 dollars, they have more than enough grunt for your needs(about 1600w rms @ 3ohm's) but they need a good steady power supply. i got 2 of 'em a year or so back off of e bay for less than $200 ea. shipped to my door
