Amp cut out.

Amp cut out.

Im pretty sure that when the amp heats up to a certain point, it will just completly shut down to cool off. But this Im hoping someone could give me some input on.

Setting the Parametric eq setting etc, while the musics blaring. everythings going ok. than after like an hour of all out full volume music the tweeters shut off and the speakers in the car all seemed to dim down to 50% of their volume. Now could this just be the amp cutting power to cool down? or could the midbase loosen up some wiring in the speakers? It went back to normal after turning the volume down for 15minutes. Im just curious to see what people think.

did you maybe put your hand on the amp and see if it was hot ? does it have a thermal light on it

Both my amps are always very hot, Thinking my trunk needs a fan or 2 for summer. I Looked it up, apparently with the amp getting to a certain temp. the amp will automatically turn the power down by 5db so that the amp doesnt cut out. which explains my sound drop.

What kind of amps are they? explain your set up and car. could haver something to do with your alternator

i know its not the alternator, its nothing actually read above, i found out why. Researching N sorry i dont post up what i own or drive

yea there definatly going into overheat protection you could add a fan to get better air circulation..


why are you running at full volume for over an hour anyway lol...your going to go deaf!

yep the 4 channel is going into overheat mode, because the fan inside only kicks in when it over heats:S lol n yea i feel deaf my ears hurt. Out of curiousity runnings both amps to a single slot on the capacitor a bad idea? or should I run distribution blocks? I think im probably going to wire up 2-3 high output fans, running the constant off the cap, the relay off the remote wire, and the ground off the cap. If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to let me know
