Amp Question

Amp Question
I once heard from a local car shop that it isn't the amount of RMS a amplifier puts out, but the quality and size of the fuses or transistors (basically the guts, not sure on the fuses or transistors, was a while ago) that mattered. Like he was telling me he had I think one of those AB 500.1's running 2 kicker CVR's and they pounded like hell, he said he'd blow the cones right out of the baskets if he wanted too. Was just curious, was from a local car shop so I just wanted to see if he was full of him self and trying to talk me into buying something, or actually had some truth behind it. I noticed that someone uses that 500.1 AB amp in compitions, so I thought I would ask.

cvrs would get smoked by that amp, but to take the cones right out of the basket, unlikely, unless he was in there first and cut stuff.
and about amps, i cant give u an answer about components inside, but in the world of spl, its all in the meter, if u want to gte loud u need to try diffrent amps on the meter. the meter is king

Alright so lets say we had 2 kicker CVR's wired correctly and all that good stuff for the AB 500.1, and lets say we had a kenwood KAC9152d 1 ohm stable 900 RMS mono block. The AB would out perform it because of the components used and not the amount of wattage?

you could usually tell how much power an amp could put out by the fuses on it. Like on a cheap amp they say it puts out 2000watts and has only a 20amp fuse its not actually going to put out 2000 watts. The fuse would blow. You could also tell by the internals of the amp. You can tell whats quality and whats not. Like you can look at a cheap amp compared to a real good amp and see the difference of internals used.
