Subwoofer/Amp problem.
Subwoofer/Amp problem.
OK so i drop my g/f off at work one day last weekend and my stereo in my car is working fine. few hours later i go to leave to pick her up and my sub is making an odd heartbeat like sound! so i run around to the back, pop the hatch and the sub woofer is sucked all the way in (magnetically) and pulsing out a little to make the heart beat sound, so i unplug the rca's but it doesnt make a difference. so i shut the car off, and the sub returns to normal. the sub woofer is a Kaption SPL 10" and the amp is a powerbass ASA-1000.1d something or other. Any ideas on the problem or where to start would be a great help.
Oh and tonight i tried plugging it in again to see if it was just being fussy (with the speaker unplugged) and the status light is on solid red but the power light is flashing on and off (blue). So my buddy comes over so i can try my amp in his car to see if it was simply something gone in the wiring but it came up with the same lights as before.
Is there any place locally (south east ontario)that could possibly fix the amp (IF thats the problem) or do you guys think it would be just as cheap to replace it with some other amp.

"NOTE: If the Status L.E.D. is activated and glows RED with no speakers connected to the amplifier,
and all the power connections are correct, this would indicate an internal problem with the amplifier.
Contact PowerBass USA or your local dealer."
Taken straight from the manual. She be fukkered my friend...

Thanks RM but thats the first thing i did. they said i basically had to send it in to them and they could have a look at it. and thats in Louisiana or some southern state. But i found a place that can repair my amp and its only like 20 mins from home. so hopefully its all good when i get it back either late this week or early next.
