Do you have an idea of how you want them laid out? Big V with 4 on each side, a parabolic shape, or a W, etc.

very much liek the blow throughs audio innovations in fresno are building (the above sketch with the calcelation). a big V or 4 per side. if you fire the subs up yours going to hae to seal the out of your tonneau cover or itll sound liek 90% of the trunk cars around here. id much rather have a properly designed and built 6th order series tuned then up fire the the subs. a 4th order would be fine too.

Lots will work. It all depends on how nuch effort you want to put in and how much skill you have to pull it off.

I guess there's no cancellation if they're phased? Port 1 is pushing air and port 2 is pulling it, how's the air get out?

I'm not going to design it. I want you to decide how you are going to build it and then I am happy to help you get the most out of it. Aside from figuring the tuning of the passthough just for the sake of curiosity, I would forget about it being a bandpass.

I like how you think!

first things first you need your cut through size... just do it... you're going to do it no matter what... so why not just do it! then tell us what you did... there are many different boxes that you can do in a cut through. just chose one that has minimal angles... thats how you will acheive best results... like dukk said earlier... 4 - 12's or 3 - 15's will yield best results... we will help if you need it.
