Alpine SWR-1022D, ported box... help?
#21
As previously stated.... nice. Wasn't knocking it nor did I call you a newb. Was just inquiring. There is a guy in Windsor that does something similar with Kicker equipment. It's loud and clear as hell. I'm just thinking there has to be some sound cancellations between the two different sized drivers playing the same frequency range. Even if the 12 does play lower ... does it not cancel some of the frequencies the 10's are playing? I always thought the only way that setup worked was if you had the 12" at say 15-50hz, and the 10's from like 50 to 100hz or something like that... At least that's how the Windsor guys is set up. Uses the ZR active crossovers to control the frequencies. Only he uses a 15" and 2 10's.

No worries man, I didn't ever think you were knocking me in any way.
At first there was a little interference with the different size drivers but a bit of tweaking and after dialing in my EQ, It was all good. I was a little worried at first tho. cause that box was not cheap to make. but it was all happy endings.

hey guys, i recently inherited an alpine 1022d sub and kicker 500.1 amp. Was wondering if you guys can help me with the dimensions to build the ported box. the sub specs say it can handle 500watts rms and thats the maximum output of the amp, i was wondering if a sub in a ported box have to be given less power than a sealed box before it bottoms out?
