First glassed box, for mazda 3
base model JL and kenwood decks/amps. The biggest power wire he has is 10g. He wanted 50 bucks for the dash kit for my mazdaplus $ to get it shipped to him(I waited to buy that out of town). And he's a rip off.thanks for the tps on getting the glue off everyone. I have a whole bottle of acetone, I'll try that.
I've had lots of guys ask me to do something in their vehicles, but thats all I ever hear from them. I think I'm the only guy in town that accually build anything for stereos. Everyone else just buys what fits and buys prefab boxes and just throws them into their vehicle.
Sorry for the long pause and no posting for awhile. I was waiting for a few supplies to show up. I had ordered magnets to hold the sub grills in place, LEDs, rear speakers and stearing wheel interface. Everything has finally showed up, today my rear speaker came to the door. I guess I have to stop fishing and start doing some work on the car. Although, I'm going fishing again on sunday.....lol
Anyhow, today I mounted the LEDs in the sub rings and installed the magnets for the sub grills.
Here is a pic of the rings lit up.

another pic that looks kinda cool

I didn't take any snap shot of the magnets installed. I also removed the rear door panels and stock speakers in the car today, but it was getting dark and had to stop there. First thing in the morning I'll be making baffels for the door speakers. I didn't get the rear speakers that I wanted because they were out of stock, so I just bought a set of JL 6" coaxals, and I'll be putting my 6" JL components in the front. I'll have more pics for you all tomorrow.

well guys, I don't have much to post, it was raining out until mid afternoon and seeing as I don't have anything to park my car under I couldn't start the tear down.
I did get a little done though, but I spent alot of time screwing around with the stearing wheel interface.
Anyhow first thing I got the speaker rings cut out and painted.
Sorry, crappy pics today

Then I pulled all the door panels, mounted the rings and the driver side speakers(except the tweeter for the front door). I didn't install the driver side speakers yet because I haven't finished running the wires for it.

I have the HU installed, but not quite all the way because I'm still playing with the stearing wheel controls. I ran the RCAs, but they are not yet strapped down. I got the whole trunk area gutted and the whole driver side of the car pulled apart. I somewhat have the driver side speaker wires run, but I still have to run them into the door, and I need to run my turn on wire and tap into the driving lights for my LEDs.
I doubt that I'll get anything done tomorrow because I'm going on a short fishing trip with a friend. I might get something done in the morning.
