i'm sorry, guess i went a bit overboard there. just having a bad day - i found out i had to replace the engine in my k car. i went to the pick a part and found a k car engine with only 500,000 kilometers on it. (mine had 5,000,000 kilometers) great cars eh?!! i'll try my best to stick to my quality, realistic posts from now on.

"...why heck can't the stupid computer hold it's own memory? and why is the adapter so u don't have to mount the radio in the back so freakin expensive?"
cuz you bought a GM car - I tried to tell ya up top there
Now lets look at this - you paid a solid $20,000 for this car I would assume (I don't look at Cav pricing but being a Z24...) so I would think if you are dropping $50 for a kit, harness, and antenna adaptor that I know I would throw in the rest of the money and get the relocation kit. I mean, it IS a new car - why chance the argument with a service manager with their head in their ***?
After all - you'll be taking it in for service quite often anyway
yeah yeah - I know.. I hate GM

There is a new harness that allows you to keep the chimes without relocating the deck on 2000+ cavaliers/sunfires. I don't know the part #, but I think it is Metra that just came out with it. If you must keep the chimes, use this harness, because I know you don't want a crappy stock deck sitting in your trunk.

Check out this website. It will explain everything about the aftermarket HU install on 2000+ cavalier/sunfires.
