My cousin has an 82 Celica Supra in mint condition. What I wouldn't do to buy it from him (he wants $3000) and put the 4th gen twin turbo in it. Oh baby.

Yeah, we had a 98 sunfire gt the guy who owned it before didn't know how to drive it, soo kinda messed up the trainy if it wasn't for that warranty that paid for 2 new transmission cause the mechanic didn't fix it the first time, I was lookin at almost 4G outta my pocket, soo why new car never have to worry abotu spending a dime unless wear and tear, of course I would love to have an older style ecplipse Turbo or 95 supra turbo, but with getting a new house/married and all that fun stuff, I don't want the hassle of car expense.....

i liek the new cavaliers alot. although myself personaly would never buy a new car unless i made at least 50 k a year lol. and even then i woudl be hard bought to buy a BRAND new car. i liek teh styling of the new z24. i own a 97 cavy and its a nicee car. the only thign i coudl wish for is better handleing. because corners feel very slugish.

 

You guys are funny.......so some stupid website says that you don't need the harness.....hmmmmm.....try going to the dealer and going thru one of the electrical manuals for those cars and you will see what is actually tied into the DATA bus wire......OR.....how about the lawsuit that was filed against Schoshe a couple of years ago because they said that you didn't have to worry about it and the airbag DID NOT go off when a car got into an accident.

How many people on that wonderful website have actually been in a accident with their cars ? Did the airbags go off ?

Is it going to have issues with every car ? NO considering how many plants build these cars....

Do you really want to take a chance ?? Why not take the rear brakes off, you don't use them much, that will save you a few precious pennies.....



Sorry, but I would take the manufacturers word over a website......

Read what you just said and go read the damn manuals yourself. It says specifically in the manual that the chimes will be lost if the RDS radio is disconnected. NO MENTION OF AIRBAGS!!!! If there was an instance of airbags not going off it was because the installer was a dumbass and forgot to re-engage the airbag when he put everything back together. Or maybe he spliced into the wrong wires. Several people in the J-body community have gotten into accidents with this install and their airbags worked just fine. Come look at the airbag light flashing 7 times when I start my car, even with the stock deck relocated to my closet! 7 flashes means everything is A OK.

Upper model GM vehicles do run some info through the deck (not sure what info), but the Jbodies DO NOT!

Show me some damn proof that the airbags are routed through the radio. Schematics for example! Good luck cuz you will never find ANY PROOF WHATSOEVER!! Most GM technicians don't know **** about each individual car. They likely think that all the GMs that have the RDS radio are the same. But I can guarentee you they ARE NOT!

I have proof that my car runs just fine and have thousands of fellow j-body owners with the install that would agree. Go to a high-end shop and ask them if they will do the install. They will say yes because they know the rumours are BS. In fact, Auto Sound Design told me they do this install ALL THE TIME!

K, I'm done yelling lol

But to those of you who don't know what you are talking about, SHUT UP! lol cuz you are only adding to this stupid rumour!
