yet.... </font>
OMG There are NO problems associated with this except for losing the chimes!! What proof do you have that this isn't true??? Do you even have a 2000+ j-body? There are over a thousand members on the jbo website that have done this install using the regular Tracker harness and not one has had a problem!

well im install manager at 1 of my local shops...ive probably installed more stereos in a month then you will in your entire life, and ive always been told by people alot smarter then you or 1 that this CAN cause problems down the road...not necessarily that it will, but it can...and how do you know that half those guys on the jbody site dont have, say for example...non-working airbags?!

You have been misinformed my friend. You have probably been told this "just in case" all those BS rumours are true for liability issues. But I can assure you the rumours are not true! There have been j-body owners that have gotten into accidents with this install and the airbags worked just fine. You may be an installer, but I know more about a j-body than you do.

Find a high-end install shop and ask. They will do this install I am talking about because they know all that happens is that you will lose your chimes.

However, there are upper model GMS that do in fact run info through the radio. Maybe this is where the rumours about the jbodies came from.

Yeah I called gmcanada the other day, talked to one of there people they said the major problem would be with the Malibi, IMpala's etc that they run alot of stuff through the radio, but I guess the sunfire/cavaliers aren't a huge problem, I mean I guess gm would know best then anyone else right? The install shops here won't install the aftermarket HU unless u either sign a waver releasing them being held responsible if something did go wrong, of ir u just put this special harness in? Soo yeah whichever i haven't gotten the radio in yet still doing research.....

GM continues to amaze me almost daily.

I would be more concerned with the situation where your air bag blows off or your tranny siezes up for no other reason than it being a GM and then running into a crusty old bitter Service Manager who denies your warranty because you "gots a boom box in dere.."

THAT would be my worry
</font>
Airbags are not routed through the damn radio! lol Neither is anything else except for the chimes in a jbody!!!!!!

Where is the proof that these problems you guys speak of occur?????????? Not one actual occurrance I bet! And if there was a case of airbags goin off, it would happen during installation when a dumbass installer nicked one of the airbag wires or spliced into one. On the 2000+ cav/sunfire, you are also missing a switched wire. Tap into the wiper fuse for this, and everything works perfect except no chimes!! Why do you think there is a new kit out from Metra that doesn't force you to relocate the deck? It's because they know there is NO problem in using a regular harness. The new kit merely uses a few relays to add the chimes back, and the parts to achieve this can be bought at Radio Shack for like $20.

There are hundreds of jbo members that have done this install with the Tracker harness and NONE of them have experienced any of these mythical problems that DO NOT EXIST! lol

You have the Harness I am talking about. It is meant for a Tracker, or at least that is one of the vehicles it is good for.

Just for more proof that this harness works perfectly fine, go to www.j-body.org and do a search under "2000 head unit" in the audio forum and you will find several posts regarding this issue.

It's called business my friend. The rumours are out there and the cost of making such a kit is very low, and they knew they could make a huge profit margin if they offered it.

There are no problems. Show me some proof. Oh that's right, you have none!
