Hardwrkr is right.. the new alpine decks don't open up until you hit very high volume, but once you hit that they seem to open up..

Personally, I liked my older alpine better.

Whoa...you have your subsonic filter at 30hz?

Have you tried lowering that?

I have a 10" in a ported enclosure tuned to 35hz and no subsonic filter. In two years I have never damaged my sub.

Not that this will increase the ouput, but it should improve that last octave.

i got a cda9813 and i love it because i can listen to it just fine for driving around 18-25 and if i really wanna show it off i put it past 30. i must admit, i do use the mx a lot, but it really adds when i'm playing my mp3's...
