And, I'd bet most people would not do well on double blind listening tests when comparing a $300 set of components to a $1200 set. One can spend $1,000 on a set of marquis components, and feel some satisfaction that he or she has indulged in a recognized brand name accepted by his peers. But knowledgeable people often do better for far less. The key is to know what kind of sound you want, how to go about getting it, dismissing all marketing hype, avoiding peer pressure, and taking most brand endorsements with a grain of salt. There is just so much mis-information tossed about in car audio it boggles the mind.

Here we are in a forum with a title that has a $4-600 price range, and you guys are talking $1000-$2000? Don't be absurd! We don't care if you think $2000 speakers are better. That's not realistic to most of us.
Why not just stay away from us cheap normal people....
I only have about $3,000 in my whole system. Maybe $3,500 installed myself.
I've taken up buying re-mastered CD's, because I can tell the difference, and I like it!

I'm with him... shop around and you can find these with in your budget.
Another member mentioned AVI's... love them as well.
Dynaudio is another great set... never heard a speaker that can play piano like these drivers.
My #1 choice would be the CDT Audio ES-620's though as well.

ive not heard the Premier TS-C720PRS yet, but everything ive read points to them being a really nice set of components, and they can be had for around $200 on ebay, definitely seems to be way more speaker for the money than most big name brands.
