Best way too attach ring terminals too wire?

I dunno - you dump copper cable into a 500+ F pool of solder and it is gonna heat up fast enuf.
Wave soldering machines for electronics work on the basis of instantaneously heating the trace and the component so the same should hold here. Ys you would not have full solder penetration throughout a heavy cable but that is not critcal.
I rarely solder any crimp style terminal, IMO the crimp is sufficient. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

For 4 AWG connections the vice seems to work fine, if my fat *** can pull with all my strength and the connection does not pull apart, it should be good, imo. Soldering is good also though. Solder, then the vice is good...... [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]
