you cannot tell how many db a sub hits simply by the sub. there are a million things to take into account. power, box design just to name a few.
and you are never going to get a definitive answer on caps. there are die hard believers either way. you need to make up your own mind through your own experience if they are worthwhile or not.

Cap are Caps. I know many people who hate them and other who love them. It's a personal choice. I don't use them personally.
How many db's you ask? I can't answer that. If the BTL is put in a "proper" box with the proper electrical system it will 9 times out of 10 hammer the hell out of your car. You put it in a box with 1/3 of the power and electrical it will either destroy the sub or batts and alts

They are a completely different sub, I would not say that they are the same at all. They are however massively overpriced in Canada. If you want loud and stinking good sound, I have a tried and true option for you. Amp and sub that is going to land around the $1300 mark that will deliver stunning results. Results that can be verified by members here on the site. It will require the upgrades to the electrical system that you are looking to do for sure. You will definitely need to throw some power at the front speakers at the same time or you will be a bass machine and that is all.
please tell me what set up u are speaking of, 1 12? 2 12s? u got me interested.
electrical system and highs will be upgraded for sure. i was going to do that first thing, IMO any car thats riced out needs upgrades in the electrical depart.

Amp and sub, both new, both with full warranty and the guy with it in his car is in the Toronto area and my bet would let you listen to it. PM Basstoy for info. Amp is a high end Italian import, the Macrom M1A1500d and the sub is a Digital Designs DD3512. Have the box custom made for the sub and for the vehicle and it is a guaranteed proven system. If you abuse the sub and blow it, it can easily be reconed to get you up and running again without the need to buy a new sub.
