OP should really start googling and getting prices on prospected gear so that he wont have to do the leg work twice when first time he doesnt really understand what he is looking at and what the pricing is. It appears, the OP is still in very early stages of getting acquainted with gear of this caliber and what it takes to make something like this happen.

To OP: Don't be lazy! There is only so much we can chew for you and place it in your mouth. Take pride in knowing what you're getting yourself into. Trust me, it's more fun that way

i can do all the research i want that stuffs listed online, but the true test is actually getting a chance to listen and do a proper DEMO. until I do that i wont know what they sound like and what they can do. How many of you would buy subs just by reading about them and not hearing them first?

this car audio stuff is very subjective and everyone has their likes and dislikes. its all trial and error and demos are essential!

I buy all my gear based on internet reviews and youtube videos. I have not bought anything I listened to first in many many years. And that is what makes my hobby so exciting for me. No demos for me I even bought for my new car a Hertz MLK2 set from USA without hearing them, and that set is retailed at $2500CAD IIRC. Hell, I even bought a Brax IPC capacitor without hearing it (rotflmao) and that thing is retailed mad cash.

Can you list your budget, so everyone can see what to offer you, that would put things in perspective and make it easier.

well thats cool u are willing to gamble on your buys without hearing them first, more power to you, but im not that brave sorry. i dont want to waste time and make problems for myself and/or sellers if i dont like the product and cause all this unnecessary hassle trying to return and get a refund for items i didnt end up liking because i didnt get a chance to hear them first. but i hear you,. and i hear what you are saying,. there are those who do the whole mail order bride thing too,. but not for me. I need to get properly acquainted first.

My budget is around 1500ish , looking for 2 12s and amp,.

Well, I dont see any smilies to lighten the effect of this comment, so I cant help to feel this is going in the wrong direction, and I may be responsible for not injecting enough smilies into my comments, so my attitude may have been misunderstood, so I will call it a night with this for time being so that things cool off. I have seen this again and again happening to thread heading in this direction, or I may be wrong as I have been known to be, but just in case, i will retreat into my lalaland.

On the other note, budget is really hefty and that is commendable and could be worked with to abtain some sick gear.

I was told that you push down near the outer part of the sub about half an inch and if you hear scraping or crunching or friction then the sub is no good. I tried to test this technique out wit a guy that was selling me his w6s and he didnt let me do it and said that it would hurt the sub. That made me even more skeptical. Cuz now im thinking maybe he doesnt want me to hear the friction or maybe he is telling the truth that it would hurt the sub, i dunno. But yea,. buying used subs/amps, is risky business always.

I'm assuming you guys are talking about my W6v2's? I just traded KillerKlown them subs last Sunday for TF1's. Them subs are all in perfect shape/condition. I even used them to compete that day. There is nothing wrong with them. As stated you should never push on the "outer edge" of any speakers cone. Best way is to just play music through them. I know they work. They were mine.

The only reason he has them is because I wanted to trade for TF1's and he thought it would be easier to sell a good brand name than LARGE SPL subs.

If he could have fit my box in Deezy's car you could have heard them in an enclosure. Them subs did 144+ @ 42hz on about 1500rms and sound GREAT doing it. My box was tuned to 32hz. He's got them in an enclosure now. I'd suggest you go back and hear them with your ears, not your hands. They are great subs and once you see my receipt, you'll see your getting a solid deal from a stand-up guy.

You can get KK's 3-12W6v2's and still have plenty for a good amp. I paid over $2000 just for them subs. Not even installed.

Here is a link to my youtube site. There are several videos of my old subs. Not shabby for a family minivan.
