Energy 3.5" at Futureshop - Opinions?

for the price awsome.. are they in the same league as the pioneer ts-m171prs, no but they are just as good and acurate as the hybrid L3 midrange which seems to be what audio lemmings are buying these days, but are more resonably priced.. i have personally heard both and the difference is miniscule.. run them in a 3 way front from 200 to 6k and you will be fine..
What mids are you using Goalie 35?

Hey, you kids get your own thread
Anyways, the Energy's are $20 off this week so I ordered a pair to try out. My new amps and sub are on their way as well but I'm still awaiting finding a HU so it'll be a bit before everything's in. When the Energy's arrive I'll likely install them and run them off the factory Bose amp til I get the new HU.

i have the pioneer gucci 4 inch ts-m171prs from japan.. probably one of the best wideband drivers on the planet.. go to diyma and check out the reviews on them... although i am currently looking at a pair of lear jet two way 3.5s with a whizzer cone in the middle... that should bring back memories john.

These arrived last night so I installed them today. They're currently running off the Bose amp which has them underpowered (the factory Bose speaker is a 2ohm) and the Bose crossover has them crossed way too high so I don't have much feedback on them yet. I have noticed that the highs are much crisper and I played some strings and they were much more natural sounding compared to the Bose. The Dayton RS225's should arrive in the next few days as well
