Gem-Sen Woes
Mabee you guys dont understand
I sent my amp to gem-sem for repair paid them fees to look at my amp paid shippin etc and they send me back the amp...
STILL BROKEN
I Had a warantee with the pawnshop to take the amp back
I called a week before my warantee ran out and told them i need my amp back asap i dont care if they looked at it or not.
I was told before i sent amp in i would have it back in time for my warantee at the pawnshop and i wanted to know if it was worth fixing.
I offered to pay more to have amp looked at sooner etc
they did not make my warantee and i was told no problem. I told them to check the amp again about 3 times. they insisted the amp was fine. I got the amp back went to certified radio where i had a dianostic done on it before i sent it to gemsen they tested the amp same problem.
Amp still broken
Well my warantee expired, thanks to gem sem and i called a week before it expired and told them send it back overnight i need it back im cutting my losses... and takin it back... the amp is out for service and they cant get it back for a couple days and my warantee is expiring, did.
now when they do send the amp back it doesnt work.
im out shippin charges to and from gem sens dianostic fee and they sent me back my amp broken.
and my warantee it toast. I have recently gone and talked to the guy at the pawnshop and he will still honor my warantee...
IT seems all you guys think because Gem-Sen is the service center im getting everything under warantee WRONG
I PAID FOR EVERYTHING OUT OF MY OWN POCKET.
And in the mean time i decided to grab a alpine mrd m500 out of the bargin finder...
what amp would you rather have?
Alpine MRD-M500?
or a KICKER KX 400.1?
i mean im not knockin kicker im sure they are a kicker *** product and i'm gunna definatly throw it in my car and compare it to the alpine who knows i might even save it for my impala
Its been so long since i been without bass to i just couldnt wait any longer I saved up for about 2 months for an amp then when i was lookin for an amp i found my alpine cd player, so i had to wait anouther month or 2 then i got the kicker and then i sent it back...
so i also couldnt wait any longer just because and i been savin my money and i always wanted a MRD m500 since it came out but never though i could get on for 370 canadian cash... i know its more expensive than other amps in its power range but i decided it will match my system too...
and im gunna sell my rockford 15" sub too and grab a 15" alpine
But Dave has been a great help and understands this problem more than alot of you guys...
I know its alot to read but you guys come askin questions etc when you havent read the full story.
Dave has been a good guy to deal with im sure he probley hates me but whatever

also if Gem-Sen would have found the problem with my amp in the first place and not sent it back to me broken or been able to send it back to me in time for my warantee which i was garanteed

because the rest of my system is alpine i'm gunna stick with the mrd m500 and its more power
OK tell you guys what I will keep the new amp will that make you happy? I'll get another sub too and throw it in my trunk its only another 200 bucks for another sub... so whatever.. more bass for me.
Pete, go to the SQ section of this board and buy and listen to one of the classical cd's that I have mentioned. It'll make you feel better.
On another topic...I am assuming that your home was not affected by the fire ??? Hope not.

Impala, this is the last post I make on this subject because I am tired of this constant bicker. I only have one question for you and you can choose to answer this or not. Are you really that ignorant that you don't understand what I am trying to tell you? Judging by your last reply on this topic, you deffinatly don't have a clue. Good luck with your amp and I hope you know just how lucky you are getting replaced. I'm done.

i think what peter or mr fatty is trying to get across is that it is not gem-sens resonsability
if anybody should be doing anything it shoud be the pawnshop
in no way shape or form does gemsen have any responcability except for them to retest it and repair it
most places would eat the shipping and estimate fee in a case like yours
nothing else it is not a new problem aamp purchased by you
so gemsen is not required to do sheit for you
its like asking a garage to fix your mastercylinder for free because it failed as you drove out after it was safety inspected
dave i lost a pair of 13w7 in a tornado can you send me some i was under the impression they were tornado proof

Did this guy sent in an amp and paid full pop to have it fixed? Sounds like he did and apparently it came back still with an issue, which can happen from time to time........... but I don't know the details of what transpired.
Anyways, Dave replaces it out of the kindness of his heart. In the mean time the guy has bought something else that I assume he happy with. So now he has no need for the NEW amp from Gemsen, EVEN THOUGH HE HAS A PILE OF MONEY INTO IT (initial purchase, repair bill and shipping costs), I assume.
Ok, assuming that I have all this straight, although the gesture by Dave is above and beyond the call of duty, it is the guy's choice to sell it off whether or not any of you "haters" like it or not. Sure, none of you may be happy that the guy is taking advantage of the gesture from GEMSEN and getting a new amp, but that's life and it's his choice to sell it if he's happy with what he's already replaced it with.

If he had nothing into this venture and was just looking for a free hand-out, it would be a totally different story. But sounded like he's paid his dues.
