Does anyone in the Edmonton area by chance have a 4 channel amp they would rent to me for the show on sunday, or even be kind hearted enough to lend me one? Martin blew mine up last nite Actually we were doimg some testing on his meter and when I burped the sysyem I could smell something funny. I went ahead and burped it again, the smell got stronger. Turns out my center channel speaker cooked. The weird part is I had the input rca's disconnected from my 4 channel amp which runs the front stage (which I always do when I burp it). When i hooked up me rca's to the amp the speakers would pop out when I turned on the system and stay out until I turned it off. I have almost 9 DC volts coming out of the speaker terminals. The only thing I could possibly see happening is I put some new screws to hold down my amp which might have been too long. I have blocks of MDF screwed to the floor in which i screw the amps down to in order to isolate them from the metal floor. That is the only thing i did last nite to make anything different about my system. Any ideas as to why this would happen. I am going to send my amp away on warranty and see what happens, til then does someone have an amp kicking around i could use for a day or two?? Sorry bout the lengh

 

i decided i don't need an amp for the show this weekend, I'm not gonna compete in SQ i guess. But does anyone have any ideas on what would do that to my amp?
