If I wanted to use 8 inch woofers in the back dash of my older chevy and use a tweeter and a crossover from a component set would this sound ok or would I be further ahead just using a matching component set? And I would be using plenty of power to run them too! And if it makes a difference I will be running 1 15 inch woofer!

Well if your goal is to get more midbass in the back of your car then that would be a good way to do it.

Many people are not fond of any speakers behind them - subwoofers excepted due to box size.

how fond are you on mid bass? thats gonna be a hell of a lot of mid. u may want to go with 2 tweets per. damn man ur rear might even out weigh ur fronts. what are you runnin up front?

Put those 8's in your doors, it'll sound better (possibly) than in the hatshelf, at least I think so from a past experience with a 79 Malibu.
