The trade off is service for cash.

I know for some type R's I was looking at here, I was quoted $300 for them here, but i can buy them online for about $115 shipped US.

That is nearly half off...

Your kidding me right? Its was not a good deal at all they are DEAD here is your post:

i ordered 2 12'' type r subs from indoaudio.com
and they didnt even work
its been almost 5-6 months now and the still havent got me my ra# thing so i can return
horrible service....
horrible product...

So you saved money on garbage. If you bought from a good dealer you would have proper warranty and service. For some reason people think its free to service and warranty products so you should not pay for it. You think for 1 second some guy in California cares about your problems.....NO

Not all internet purchases turn out horribly wrong. Why do lots off people buy stuff off ebay, cause its dam near half price and if they do get a deffective item, they have saved so much in earlier purchases that this is hardly a loss. Everything I have bought off the interent/ebay is 100% perfect, with excellent customer service. One item didnt come, guess what the seller did. Sent me another free of charge and shipping, thats dam good customer service.

Whoa cowboy, I was not talking about your purchases. And BTW you are 1 of the lucky ones and there is a few success stories. However he was boasting what a great deal he got and the product was DOA. Also you ever wonder way stuff is "Dam never half price" say it with me now, REFURB & STOLEN equipment is all over the internet just a few months ago a whole truck load of Pioneer gear went missing from out west and ended up on ebay. So now you buy it then send it to Pioneer for warranty and well to say the least you are not getting a repaired product back and the RCMP are now on your door step asking where it came from. And then they have to keep it for evidence. You may have not had a problem and never will but I have a policy now anything over $50 us and I will not be getting it over ebay. This story I just told is common BTW.

For myself I'm into old school PPI so basicly ebay is my only route. Of course you have to check feedback, etc and see what other items the seller has bought and sold in the past. eg. If he/she sold socks, then the next thing they're selling high ticket items.... hmmmm

I use SD a lot for the small stuff when they have free shipping sale (often in the off season). Most of the little shops around me both the owners are tools. The one shop my buddy ends up fixing most of there installs. The other shop changes names about every six months.

and i put them back together and put them in my car
and baamm

so i dont know what was wrong with them
but whatever it was
