I was afraid of this because I noticed that cardomain does not sell the 4 ohm version anymore. HOLY CRAP what am I supposed to do now. .
I may have a contact for you in the US that has the 4 ohm drivers still in stock. I will send them an email.

Lightbulb

I agree -wire the coils in series and run the amp at 4 ohms. Ideal? no. Will you like it? probably.

I would have to agree with Duk^^, Even @ 4ohms you will still be getting an **** load of power out of that amp!!!Try it before you spend more money on shipping and what not!!

quote "wire the sub in series"

Yep, that is what I am doing. And I guess it will have to suffice for a while. I mean, yes it is going to bang but I WANT TO SEE WHAT THIS SUB IS MADE OF! I still haven't given it over half the power it can handle and I have heard so many monstrous stories about this sub. But, I suppose.

Holy crap, this amp is a beast. I went to the manual to check what it does at 4 ohm. Uhhhh, is it for real???? 1800 watts at 4 ohm!? It says I will need 59 amps and 13.8 volts. I am pretty sure that I will make those recommendations easily. My volt meter reads 14 on the amp and 14.4 on my stinger volt meter when my suv is running. How many amperes do you guys think my amp will be getting, I have a 94 blazer with a stock alternator and a stinger drycell battery???

That is a tough call, It al depends on the wear and tear of the alt. and what not..BUt im sure that you will meet the 59amps or which ever you said..I know my blazer had a rewound alt. and some other minor things and My lights never dimmed on stock battery BUt yeah..Those amps are insane..Love mine..

almost exact same thing happened to me. though it was a dual 4, but was actually a dual 2. amp went into protect 2. rewired and worked great for the next 2 hours. then my volt meter started to drop on the dash. al the way down to 10 ish volts, tapped the gas and the volts rised, amp popped then smoked untill I remove the fuse.

I have 2 150 ampers in there. one 10ish in from the batt. and one 8 in from the amp.

1800 watts with 59 amps and 13.8 volts...that's a little difficult given that you're only pulling 814 watts from the electrical system. 814 watts into the amp is not going to give you 1800 watts out, unless it is storing power in capacitors and the rating is for a split second.
