The Type X is more geared to competition, and even there you won't see a whole lot of serious competitors running them, if any. If you like the Type X gear, stick to the X's for 5.25" components. Personally, I would be talking to MR2NR for a set of Morel components, but it's really up to you
I had 2 type r's but they were very under powered, i think it was like 250 rms each sub, and honestly they were extremly loud, once in winter i actually got a head ache from my brain vibating too much to the bass:P, also my windows were up and no real ventilation for the soundwaves to exit.

And i thought that the type X are the best that alpine got to offer, i stuck to alpine because so many of my friends subs fot fried and my alpine lasted a long time, and took a whole beat, i even kept it in my car while auto-crossing!

only reason i sold my type r's is because they take up too much room, so i thought maybe putting in one type x will help.

So i guess i should look into a type R? Also whats a really good deck for my money.
