Wow.. I am really off base...

NOT...

:endrant:
(Taking things literally - might as well if you're going to put your foot that far into your mouth)
Because, like, Xmax is everything right?
The Stroker is a mediocre woofer? Hell original Strokers at comps just last year were taking home first place trophies still. How old are they now?
Focal Utopia 27WX/33WX have only 8/9mm Xmax respectively. Of course these are mediocre woofers in your opinion.

Fat Whacker stated he remembered some coming back with burnt coils. He also stated that Rob got a good deal on these drivers. Now personally I wouldn't think paying $100 for **** is a good deal (farmer's stay out of this ) so why do you suppose that was said.

Haunz, I don't consider this a pissing contest. It is rather a discussion of everyone stating how Rob got a good deal on a decent pair of driver's against you who thinks he paid for ****.

Brandon - I try brother, I try.

linear Xmax means alot for SQL... someone with a daily driver dosent care if thier woofer can fart loud at 60hz with high power...

Ive got 2 18 strokers sitting here with me now and I dont think I would ever put them in a daily driver.... size of the wrap on the coils is unimpressive and xmax is severly limited by the surround... thanks for asking...

weak.. lol..

yea, good deal on the speakers for $100... but you couldnt PAY me to put them in my car...

Edit: maybe for midbass Id use them..

Haunz,
In a Crx , these subs are waaay more than you need for daily driving. And for $100 bux, try and find 2 quality 10" subs ....

2 xs cargo rock box 10s would walk over em for $30 less...

Edit: I played with two and Id hope kicker quality is better... but they held up like champs for HOURS on a peavy 1.3K giving 300+ rms each..

I varified Xmax was 12mm one way as they advertise... 5mm more then the kickers.. lol..

I guess you weren't listening AGAIN but you go ahead and think what you like, IF you actually have 2 18" CV Strokers at home if you hook them up to a respectable amp you'd see very quickly that they are excellent woofers.

The Stroker's reputation speaks for itself, but I guess those hundreds of DB Drag/USAC/IASCA 1st place trophies are wrong and you're right is that what you're saying? I guess because it uses like 30 year old technology it must be junk, though it still gets as loud as most of the new "SPL" subs out there.

I think you did a phenominal job right there of proving just how much of an idiot you are. perhaps you know something I dont Haunz, but how does more or less 7mm of excursion make or break a woofer being good or not? I've heard countless countless (I mean COUNTLESS) of drivers, perhaps not in Car audio that have as litle as 3 millimeters of linear excursion, that'll blow anybodies mind of how stupidly loud they can go, and how deep and ultra-articulate they are. Is it just Xmax that determines how good a sub is? There are how many other parimeters out there? how about reference effeciency when it comes to determining SPL, how about VAS, QTS, or Linear excursion. Good for the subs that can move lots, is there lots of cone break up? Is there uniform cone movement, whats the step response, or the group delay? There are LOTS of things that you obviously know nothing about when it comes to audio. I dont know much either, but at least Im not stupid enough to be like you and profess that I know lots. Im learning lots (shouldn't you be also.. you SHOULD!!!)
It doesn't surprise me not for a second that the Mods here have just given up arguing with you, since its entirely pointless, you obviously know little, yet claim to know a lot, thats the best indication of a mis-lead fool I've ever seen.
