OLD SKOOL Kicker XPL Subs ?
#61
he factored in the Kicker Suckage Factor, which on everything except their amps (which are amazing), is quite high by industry standards.
I've heard lots of L5s & L7s and I would never call it clean bass. considering the wattage given the subs as well, I wouldn't call their SPL numbers that respectable either. The SQ was dismal - transients were sloppy - the low bass was nice but the impact was missing.
Their old stuff is great, however, but Kicker is just another brand that gets worse and worse with every passing year, just like Fosgate.

^ dude, you are out of your league...
wow... I would consider excursion, linear excursion and uniform cone movement to be the same thing... and cone breakup will effect that... everyone knows 1w/1m effeciency means exactly **** for subwoofers... VAS and QTS are used in determining optimal box/install... the box/install will determine group delay... and step response will be determined by crossovers and install...
Hope you were able to catch all that...
brandon... IF ?
please...
edit: I hope everyone can appreciate that I have not called anyone any nasty names or posted any other dumb ****..

Good for the subs that can move lots, is there lots of cone break up? Is there uniform cone movement, whats the step response, or the group delay?

And how do you figure a subwoofers effeciency is irrelevant? honestly, how well a sub makes use of what energy its given plays a BIG role in SPL. how the hell would a very in-effecient sub be loud? Mr. Know-it-all?
HOw the hell is step response of a sub created by cross-overs dumbass? do you even know what step response is? Its how fast a speaker will react to an electrical signal, such as its measurable attack and decay rate, which is universal towards all drivers, including tweeters too. So how would that be determined by a crossover? Its determined by the sum total of ALL the T/S parimeters, AS WELL AS the box that the subwoofer is in. Different boxes allow the driver to react differently. SHouldn't you know this if you know everything Haunz?
Honestly Haunz, dont be talking crap, its your idiotic opinions that create this resentment towards you. Its easy to be tough when your on the net, but in person? how tough are you really?
I remember a little over two years ago, this guy was very insulting to me over this other forum, although he was right here in Calgary, so I met him in person, funny how quick he shut the hell up after that fiasco, dont be talking Sh*t about people, like DVWV is 6'4" and wieghs 300 pounds, I'll bet there are COUNTLESS other people on this forum that are at least almost as big.
