Digital display for x-over points, 7 preouts out with 10 volts rms. Preset eq curves, balanced line inputs (2). 28 band eq (left and right separate). Can be outfitted with external volume controls...I love it!

I think George kidnapped Dave Mac, anyone seen him lately?

A competitor from around here (Rob Dobo) took out his EPX2 and replaced it with the analog Image pieces and he told me it was night/day difference in SQ over the EPX2. He also gained an additional 3db in SPL testing

most of these digital processors with a/d and d/a's in them aren't the best for SQ but do a lot, just look at PEI330Ci's post in the SQ forum

Trying to get this discussion back on track...the appeal of an EPX (or an Audiocontrol DQX or similar device) to me is in having a multiple band EQ AND a 3-way crossover in a single unit that can be controlled from the ****pit. While I want a great sounding system, I won't be competing, so I am not trying to attain perfection (or as close to it as you can get in car audio).

EPX is a nice unit, and does a lot. It has proven itself in the SQ lanes for many years. I've always preferred analog EQs, but none the less.. if you can pick one up for a good price, go for it [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

Methinks George doesn't know Tinted, and methinks Tinted knows more about Spl than George does.
JohnnyToronto also knows that Tinted is the loudest Street C car in Canada, so JohnnyToronto would like to know what Tinted can do to be louder.

Anything in the signal path can cause degredation of SQ, the question is are the trade offs worth it? In most cases the better tuning abilities are definately worth it as overall SQ in the end will go up.

I'm busy testing products.. George ain't welcome at the test bench...

I can say that they induce alt whine or just plain old noise pretty easy. Pretty picky units.

George thinks that Tinted gets excited to much. George thinks that if Tinted is so good at Car Audio then he should take a stab at SQ, after all SQ is much harder to do then building a car to go loud.
