The LOC is not really needed with that amp as it actually still has speaker level inputs on it. Just run wires from the rear speaker leads to the amp and toss the LOC. If you want to keep the factory speakers and just add a sub you can get a real cheap deck for around $120 that will do MP3 and aux in. This is the newer model of the one I have here...

Excellent deck for the price. Aux in, plays MP3 & WMA. 1 set of RCAs for your sub amp. I would offer you mine as it is being replaced by an X-991 this weekend, but you can get a new one for a little more than I would ask for mine so I will end up with a spare. LOL
You can run those subs with that amp no problem. You just have to set the gains on it accordingly. Let me know if you need any help. Any other ???s just ask.

lol. not a matter of the radio getting taking its my windows getting broken and subs and amp. also i loose the door chime and don't feel like getting an aftermarket one.

i was thinking about running the stock and aftermarket deck and wire it up so i can switch on the fly but not worth the hassle.

this isn't my main hobby as i would like to have hearing later on in life. my main hobby is pc's so it gets all the extra cash flow. next thing is a rad and water block for my video card

when i first posted this i did take a second read of the manual for the amp and noticed the trhe fact that i may not need the LOC so i might just try taking it out and see how she sounds without it. i've gotten the $25 worth of it so i won't might not needing it anymore.

anyway as for another question i would like to try a cap depending on how much of a difference the Big 3 makes. i've already done the grounds and it helped a bit with the lights dimming. i will be doing the alt to battery tomorrow. i can get a 2.8 farad cap from sayal electronics for 69.99 but its way more then i need. i heard to much can stress the alternator?

here is a link to the 2 caps i can get. for less then 80.

and i'm 95% sure but it gets wired in parallel correct?

A cap gets wired in paralell and is ONLY usefull as a minute sound quality tool. For your application it is as usefull as **** on a bull
