Remedy for dimming headlights?

I don't see need in your vehicle for 0GA wire. Internet bandwagon YO! You have a 60a alt. Honsetly.... 4GA would be the biggest wire you would need.
You for
replace the battery terminals if you just have the ring type.
Add in a battery to chassis ground
Add in an Engine to Chassis ground wire
You could do a Alt to Battery (fused) however IMO would be a waste
This should help out with your dimming. If not why not see about getting a cheap .5fd cap from Walmart and installing it on your main power feed of your light wiring? This would help stable the voltage and reduce/remove the dimming.
0GA wire... fvk He's not drawing 300a+

you are pulling about 1kw, so the smallest wire to the AMP should be a 4 gauge, remember this is in addition to all the typical electrical loads the car comes with which need 8ga so upgrading the entire BIG 3 (look it up it is ALL OVER this forum) to 4 ga is a minimum as well. I am not convinced the capacitor will do anything but drain the wallet for the most part. A bigger or better a second battery would be next (if the starting battery is old or has gone dead a couple times it might be time for a new one (have it checked) as this could be the problem too).
make sure all your electrical connections are clean (no frayed wire, no corrosion) metal to metal and tight

He said in his original post he's only running 350watts but plans to run 1000. Alright, for 1000 he'll need 4ga, but for now the 8ga should suffice.
Adding a second battery adds an extra load to the alternator and will just make the problem worse.
Upgrading the current battery to a newer, more efficient battery would be something to try, but that can be pricey.
Honestly, I'd start looking into alternators. 60A is tiny for an audio car.
As a last stretch attempt, if all you want to do is stop the dimming headlights, you can actually put a capacitor on the positive line for your headlights and close to your headlights (Long runs of wire from a capacitor negate it's purpose down to nothing)
Good luck!

A cap cannot make up for other electrical supply issues, no matter what the sales guy tells you.....
OP, your new 60amp alt is not going to be able to run your car and fully power a 1KW+ sytem. Get the wiring up to par first, that will help get as much as you can out of the one you have.....Big 3 how-to guide with pics is ---> here.
After that's done, let us know how much difference you can see and hear and we'll go from there.

Personally I like 120 or better for my systems....voltage gauge in the dash never even twitches when I crank it.....he did say he just bought the new one and no matter how it works out he still needs to do the wiring upgrades....

sounds like a ground issue with that little power. big 3 should help but try and find all grounds and replace them if needed..
to me doesnt matter how much power i will have 0gauge big3 is what i would do.. the less resistance the better.
