Sound Deadening
This is just funny, I did my whole car in Peel and stick, smelled for 1 day, and even in the middle of summer, it never fell off, smelled, or anything, just loooked like hell!! Oh well just my 0.02
I also used the spray on deadener ( quiet kote) and this stuff smelled for about a week straight and didn't do that great of a job. Oh well.

Any online sites in particular? The only deals I've found so far are around $60 USD + shipping for a door kit. After exchange rate, shipping charges and potential brokerage fees, I'll be paying close to $100. Unless the final cost savings are 30% or more, I'm more inclined to buy local and pay a little bit extra.
I don't want to make an arguement here, but no one ever mentioned, complained of a odor or smell. And I know what you mean about the smokers house thing, but oh well, im not here to argue with you, not my job.
who cares if your trunk smells like tar... who sits in there anyways? and if you seal your doors up properly and put them back togehter, you should never get the smell of tar in your vehical
The smell of Peal n' Seal is gone within a day or so I've found. (actually, when I did the trunk of my previous vehicle I didn't notice ANY smell at all)
If I'm dumping a lot of money in to an install and I REALLY want to get the benefits of proper deadening than I'd personally use B-Quiet Ultimate... but for a generic "cheap as I can get" type install I've got no problems using P&S.
A customer brought in some FATMAT. It smelt so strong that we ended up tearing it out! It's the worst mat I've ever used. I also wouldn't have trusted it to stay in place either. Many things are factors when using roofing material. One is name brand. Some are better than others. Another major factor is shelf life. It isn't very long on some of this stuff. It's adhesive tends to deteriorate. The symptom it gets is the paper starts to fall off by itself. Beware of this sign. After that, it's junk. Put it back on eBay...quickly.
$100.00 for a door kit is overpriced! One of the cheapest way is to get some contact cement and some closed cell foam.
They also use poly based deadening when they install bath tubs. I have a guy that lets some fall off the back of his truck sometimes. I'll ship you some for the cost of shipping.
You'll just have to wait for that one.

Sooo if you were to get some Great Stuff foam spray would that work like closed cell foam and be a good sound deadening product? Maybe even with some adhesive spray or contact cement to make sure it stays in place?
And just out of curiosity, what is the deadening for bathtubs called? I've had to replace a few in my time but I'm not a pro so I'm not in the loop with all the bells and whistles...
When I first got into audio years ago, people had told me that home depot generic roofing tar will work because it's all asphalt based. I ended up buying a roll off another member of CCA at the time (mojo - don't see him on the board anymore) and was convinced it would be just as good, no smell, etc.
It was perhaps one of the biggest mistakes I've made. The sheet had a plastic film that would seperate from the tar and/or tear, exposing the tar. It was impossible to remove and worst of all, it stunk when the weather got a bit warmer. What's worse was that I did the entire floor and trunk. I ended up forking more money out to get enough b-quiet extreme to cover it all.
Lesson learned... if you're gonna do it, do it right. Or, if you're like me, get a part time job at Future Shop/Best Buy and take advantage of yearly staff sales for Dynamat in bulk (and then quit...
). Still one of the nicest deadeners I've ever used.
