Sport Trac System Complete
First of all a big THANKS to member tonez735 for all his help in not only giving me a great deal on the amps, but also helping me through the install and helping me pick out the best subs for my application and providing "tech support" throughout the whole thing. having joined this forum only a few weeks ago, and asking for help in just one post, it goes to show the quality of the people here
On to the install...
This is the equipment that has gone into my finished (for now) system:
Head Unit: Clarion MAX675VD
Door Speakers: Clarion SRC5796 (5x7)
Subs: 2 10" Kicker CVT Shallow Mounts in a custom Fiberglass Box
Amps - Subs: Rodek 2150i
Amps - Front Speakers: Rodek 275i
Wiring: Monster 4awg
Ipod 80 gig
I installed the head unit, door speakers and built and carpeted the fiberglass box myself. The onlything i was leary of doing was the electrical wiring with the 2 amps because i have NEVER done any of this before really... so i got a shop to to that. But i am very happy with the sound and bass these two CVT's put out, and the amps seem to easily provide the power that it needed at 2/3 to 3/4 of the gain turned up.
The only negative thing now is that i want to "do more" - upgrade door speakers, amplify all 4 door speakers etc... got the audiophile bug...
Thanks again tonez753!

Thanks for the props bud... I'm glad you're happy with it Congrats your first positive iTrader rating too!!!!! hahahaha If you need anything else just let me know!! That turned out to be a really nice install too. Nice job!!! I can't believe I sold those amps hahaha
Let me know if you want to go with an active front stage... I'd do that before amplifying the rear speakers for sure!!!

Toddyboy, AAAAAAA, Mad Green - thanks for your comments. Yes, i'm starting to see this will NOT be a cheap hobby...
The CVT's are actually pretty nice. they have a mounting depth of 4 3/16, and they can be mounted right upto the back of the sub touching the wall of the enclosure. they also provide a plate so that you can cut out a circle on the mdf (if thats what you're using to make a box) and screw in the plate so you get an additional 3/4 inch mounting depth.
Skeedy - each one of these requires 0.7 cuft of space so technically i should have 1.4 cuft. i know i'm under that amount...probably around 1 to 1.2 cuft. i'm going to try adding some polyfill, apparantly that helps?
Tonez - i'l definately keep you posted on future upgrades. probably a set of nice components for upfront still running of the 275i at first. but right now i have got it in my head that i need to remove all the seats, the console, the headliner - everything - and apply deadening to the entire cab....then, i think i will modify the 60/40 rear seats to 40/40 and build a sub enclosure with the right amount of airspace between the two seats....hahahahaaha - yup, it'll be done in a month or my wife will kill me. lets see which comes first...
