really you had a good listen to sub by reading text... sorry for the sarcasm, but get out there..go to a few local shops and listen to what they have.

I'd suggest starting with the cabinet size, and that would help determine what size, sub, then which sub will work best under the conditions provided.

lol well actually I'm a bit stuck now. It's between the W3 and the DCON both 10". Also a quick question......what's the difference between say a 2 or 3 way speaker compared to components and would it be worth it to replace the speakers with components.

check out image dynamics. i've heard each of those subs listed except the MTX, and prefer Image to everything there. The JL's would be next in line. sony hi fi(JL) and custom auto radio(Image) carry those brands right by you in whitby.
listen to them in person to make a decision

the idq series are extremely efficient, amazing sq and still pack a good punch, all in small package.

and components can do wonders raising your front soundstage.
