Am considering going with Kicker CVR subwoofers...am running a Rockford Fosgate 400s (400 watts rms into a single mono channel) .

What would perform better......1- dual 2ohm DVC 10" driver....300 watts rms, 600 peak, running in a 4 ohm load or...2- 4 ohm DVC 8" drivers, 200 rms 400 peak, running in a 4 ohm load , both in the model I mentioned above.

Looking for sq and being able to provide enuf bass for a small hatch-back car, plus they both won't take up tons of space...so that's not a worry for me.

Honestly as far as loudness goes, both of those applications will probably be near the same. However a 10" Inch will be able to play deeper notes. However I would think that 2 8's would move more air being as how it is more cone area than just 1 10. Someone else with more technical knowledge could probably touch on this more. But I am sure as far as loudness goes, 2 8's or 1 10 with the same power going to them will probably sound the same as far as loudness goes!

I did hear that with a smaller driver, like a ten or an eight, is that the bass is a lot tighter too, not sloppy like some 15's or 12's, which would need more power to run them properly.

Plus for all types of music, 8's or 10's would do. Is there a big enuf difference in performance that would warrant going with either size??

I've had the CVR 10 on 200 watts and it pounded really good, in a sealed box, I was very happy with it,I 'd recommend the 10 and if you can port it, and tune it low, it will go deep and sound very good at the same time, good luck

I second that, because before you know it you will want a pair.

Cause I said I wanted 8's or 10's. Small trunk, 12's are not practical.
