One thing you didn't mention random is what type of music you like?
Do you want to be heard 2 blocks away?
Do you want to score high at spl shows?
Or do you want it to be crystal cear?

My infinity perfects seem to be doing it all for me, and I have been beating them for 5 years and this year I'm doing a bunch of spl shows with them and they are still kicking. Good scores at the show, and clear bass on the ride home.

i listen to mainly rap/hiphop music and yes i want it to be heard from far away, i dont compete in any compitions or anything like that and even though i want it to be heard, i dont want it to sound like , about going store to store the only store in saskatoon/saskatchewan that has alpine is visions and they don't sell X type you have to order it in so i can't do that/ and when i do buy my system i'll problably buy it from ebay i seem to save money doing this i did it with the last system i had and it all went well. this is totaly off subject but has anyone heard the Alpine PLV-7 they look interesting hahahaha!!!!!

Alpine isnt your sub then. what is your price tag your looking to spend? and what do you curretly have? what car?

well i have a 94 mazda precidia,which makes it a hatchback, and well i was looking on ebay i was going to buy 1 12" type X for close to 250$, the alpine pdx 1.1000 for close to 450$.. do you still think the alpine pdx is good or no, because that amp looks nice hahaha so ya i dont wanna get to much more then that.....oh ya and again has anyone heard the Alpine PLV-7 they look interesting....

The LAT systems are a pretty neat idea. But the units must be loaded against a solid surface from my experience. They have more port noise then I would consider acceptable in a car.

A good subwoofer will be able to play all types of music. The box design will have more to do with the overall sound the sub providing you’re buying a good product. Some may take more power or have other properties that you may or may not need, but in the end if the sub is of good design it will do everything well. If you hear otherwise, I suggest talking to other people.

The Alpine will do everything you need it to do.

That car can get might loud with a pair of 12" subs in it. Have you considered that option at all?

ya i didnt want the LAT system they are supposedly designed to work best in suv's and like that i was just interested in the design and if they sound good or not, lot of people saying that alpine isn't the sub to go with, saying they aren't that loud i had 1 10" hooked up to a 2000 watt peice of amp hahah and it sounded pretty loud, but i dunno hahaha all these negative comments about the X type make me think i should go somewhere else i dunno i guess i won't really be buying the system till i'm out of China and back into Canada, which isnt untill dec. 31 but as soon as i am in Canada i want to know what i want and get it all hooked up my cars ready for everything since i sold my last system befor i came to China..!! and about the two 12" ya i did sort of consider it but if i got two twelves thats more money because i'd need a bigger amp or another amp, plus my truck is hella small it would be a tight squeeze putting two 12" expecially if i wanted them in a proper box, but ya i want to start with the one 12" then raise some more funds and put another two into it due time.
