are you running the 1 box at a time to see what is the best ?
if i think we have some here that have done up to 10 boxes to see what is the best for that sub

but

if you are planing on running the 2 boxes at the same time i would not !
you will find that 1 will cut into the othere sub wave
you can run 2 boxes set up the same and be ok

 

reading the post, i got the idea hed use 1 box to be loud and the other box for more daily sound quality kinda stuff

 

i would have a swich to flip form 1( / )2 off or on but if he runnes the 2 boxes on he will fined that he is not happey with it (but i'm gessing )
there is alot i do not know here like 1 amp or 2 amps ,what amps ,how much power can the car put out to run the amps

I'll sum it up with a NO! Even witha switch to turn off one amp that is driving one of the boxes, the driver is still going to move and act as a passive radiator. This means that it will be interfering with the primary subs job at reproducing bass for the task at hand, be it spl or sq. The proper way to solve this if you are going to do it is one of two things, completely remove the second box or completely seal the second box by putting a cover over it and the port that fits as tight as possible.
