Clarion DRX-9255

Pro's:
Sounds awesome(still one of the best sounding decks ever)

It's a classic

I don't see too many people with them

no fancy s***, just a cd player with fade, balance, bass and treble controls.

It only cost me 450 bucks.

Cons:
It's got a stupid outboard DC/DC converter that is gigantic and is hard to mount.

No Remote.

kdc-ps900. I'm not a huge kenwood fan but this is a golden oldie.

-Multi changer control
-cd player,preamp and tuner only
-doesn't overheat

Best of all it was free one of my buds upgraded and it was sitting around one day after my clarion was stolen he said here take this and the changer! Man it's great to have good friends!

clarion 9575z with 7500z digital space eq and 655tz changer wicked sound quality. colour matches interior and motorized face brings out to perfect viewing angle.

Um, what more could I ask for?

What will I buy next? See what Eclipse does in 05..nothing in o4 that I would take over the 8053(well, except for a few of the video units, maybe)

Oh, scarlemthug...let me check with the shop again to see if they happen to have an extra trim ring kicking around. If they do, I will mail it to you.
Thanks Perry, I really appreciate that. There is guy on ebay who has the trim ring, side brackets and mounting cage which I need because the guy sent the wrong mounting cage and with no side brackets. I was gonna ask you what dash kit you used, mine sticks out so much but yours is like sunk in?

Hello
Currently I'm using an old Alpine 7909 with a few mod's
PROS:
SIMPLE - analog adjustments for balance, fade, treble and bass, CD changer control, AUX input, display is bright in all lighting conditions and excellent sound quality.

CONS: - CD's don't read when the temp hits around -25C
The Alpine 7903 was also one of my fav's, and a Harman Kardon flip face cassette deck which I can't remember the model.

So many to choose from now-a-days that have so many toys, I wish there were some good simple ones that wouldn't distact me while I drive, oh well.

dex-p9 + rs-p70x

pros: sounds great, huge processing power (but I only use about 10% of it ... always nice to have some reserve if needed), ability to tune up front very quickly, single din unlike the h700

cons: silver, hard to see display with my polarized driving glasses on, crossover isn't the best but I live with it, not analog (I like dials)

selling it for Denon A1N or whatever + Arc Audio DXE, but I'm in no rush as the combo I have is fine (I can live with the downfalls)

How is silver colour considered a disadvantage?
