well first off this is Rob not Nic.. well everybody involved in this post .. remember we all live in Canada not in the US.. everybody thinks that theres "free" products in certain cars in canada.. well there not.. maybe in the us theres free gear cars but not up here theres not enough support for companys to really care about Canadian competitors.. thats just my two cents.. sure pricing maybe be alittle cheaper but when you buying 8/16/32 amps at a time you kinda entitled a discount.. but thats just me....

see now, kinda the way i see it, if u are in mini street, long as u arent over the power limits, or running 2 15s, and your stuff wasnt free, so u dont care if u run the 400w amp at .25 ohm and fry it every run so that u can gain a power advantage then whatever, ill take on an installer, cus not every joe blow workin at a big retail store knows how to build a loud box, ive see $10k installs that look sweet, and i probly couldnt duplicated if i tried, get worked by alot less power.

not to say that there arent guys out there who know their stuff inside and out and could do 140s with 100w per sub,
as long as u stay within the rules, in mini street at least it doesnt matter, cus in my opinion mini is one of the best laid out classes, its incredibly fair for new competitors, and old competitors on a budget alike.

however, street classes, where theres no power limits, and alot more gray area i can see it being a problem, case in point visions show on the weekend, i show up, find out no mini street, know theres no way in hell i can compete with my system in street 1-2, end up borrowing a kicker amp from LBKC and risk turning my subs into paperweights, just to keep up,
saw other competitors leave after being bumped into higher classes for whatever reasons, cus they were 5-10db off the leader.

personally i think the classes kinda need to be reworked, to make it more competitive, and more inviting to new people, cus its becoming, the more money u have to spend on gear the more wins u will take home, at least in classes like street 1-2 where u have more then 4 competitors,

i dunno its not alot of help cus i dont have any kinda solutions or suggestions on how to make things better, or more fair, for a class like street 1-2

but i dont think u can call something sponsorship if someone gets a deal, in my eyes sponsorship is an agreement with a rep basically saying, ill give u this stuff for cost or whatever, but u have to agree to go to x amount of shows, have these stickers on your car, and talk about how great the gear is....

like ive gotten some SMOKIN deals, simply by shopping around, and letting salesmen know this guy at your competitor offered me the same thing for this much, can u match it or beat it? and then go back and talk to the other guy and see who will go lowest, doin that i got a pair of JL 6x9s a few years ago, regular 268$ i got em for 125$

We think anything below retail or free is sponcered. But then again who cares if your going up against a sponcered vechicle or not. We did at finals last year and beat some of them. It is fusterating but it makes you work on your car alot harder to get louder.

it's good that you hit high numbers as you do. We aspire to become a heavy hitter as yourself one day. One day.... we shall see...

I still think the biggest problem is there isn't enough street classes.. there's nothing for the average joe.. then the jump from street to super street is too big so not many people want to move up..

feedback is a must.
