Thanks I got a chance to show the number in the lane today. I'm working with 3 batts and no alt lol 152.6 and 152.3 back to back runs. After that it was time for demos lol

I'm determined to find 53's before I add another amp. Still got alot of work to do inside the box. Its still raw wood lol

I was watching a vid of Alan and Lacy's car and it looked like the meter was positioned in the drivers kick. I've measured there for ***** and giggles and saw high 56's when I had my 10's. At that time my dash score was mid 51's on the glass. Have they ever metered on the glass?

that's exactly what I'm talking about
depending on the type of box and the tuning you can even get a 10dB gain in outlaw from standard dash position

btw nice to see you getting up there, glad you are keeping your goals realistic and raise the bar as you acheive the goals one dB at a time.

I think those scores deserve respect they worked hard all year to get them. Just so everyone knows the 0-1000 scores are done on 1+stock battery and 2 amps that are rated at 500@4ohm. Unlimited is done with 2+stock batteries and like any proper trunk class no rear deck cuts or extruding enclosures from fold down seats.

Damn MTA if USACI is that easy why don't you bust out a 164 with the neon with the 10 DB gain that we get. Hmmm 10-12 years ago you say? That means you were playing with a audiocontrol, we are in the termlab days now. Realistically i've see anywhere from 1.5-3db gain from kick to dash unless its some crazy supermod vehicle with a fiberglassed air pocket in the kick.

Just to prove your theory I will compare finals to finals numbers.

Danny Hays - Dbdrag 178 USACI 180 Gain 2 DB
Craig Butler - Dbdrag 181.1 USACI 181.8 Gain .7 DB
(If I find more i'll post em)

i think its funny and smart as you guys are you all make crap comments like this post. i mean really... 10db? its amazing you think its just open the door and put the sensor in the kick and bam amazing numbers lol try it. legal builds are much different that outlaw builds. ill GARANTEE a drag street/stock build will not come dominate usaci, and vise versa... its takes LOOOTS of time to get good numbers either way legal or outlaw...

and thor, i recall you saying elsewere you only saw roughly 1.5db gain when going to the kick?
and also keep in mind, its not a raw sensor stuffed in the kick, its inside a 9.5inch steal globe.. which makes a pretty big difference in scores with and without...

either way, the guys doing the 56s in the kick use 2 RD d5s and 2 batteries 1st and 2nd did at least.. thats around 7kw and i know steves car is just around a 53 legal. my set up personal is yes, built for "outlaw" meaning designed to gain when i open the trunk , i shut the trunk and lose around 1db. and really havent had enough outlaw testing to even get to the curious about legal part.
