What we need is more competitors to step up. No competitors means no shows.

Of course, and it's not going to happen overnight.
That's why honestly IMO, one of the best events of the season was either Battle of the Boxes or Drift Mania ...

I didn't attend Battle of the Boxes but I saw the pictures/level of participation/number that were put up ...

I DID however attend Drift Mania and the amount of spectators watching our crowd was straight ridiculous. And to me, if you convert 5 out of 50 into competitors, that's a success.

Oooookay.
I should have made myself more clear too though. I intend to compete, even if my system may no where near wattage that other people's systems are putting out. My system is loud, and may surprise some people considering the amp powering the subs is 25 watt amp, putting out 400 watt at 2 ohm bridged.

But, I will also benefit from seeing people in person, and taking pointers right there and then.

youll be in street stock pretty sure youll do just fine if you can tune that sterio in and find all your gains with seat placement, visors makesure your batterys charged do the big 3 and maybe upgrade your battery you can do some decent numbers that would make you very competitive in that class

Exactly. I couldn't agree with you more.
And the fact that you're on this site already, looking forward to events, I can only imagine your system 1-2 years from now.
I highly doubt you'll have the same setup after visiting some of these shows.

That's why I push just-showing-up alone to everyone, on and off this board.

Yeah but then also people show up and see some of the cars with 5 grand systems and think that they will never be able to afford it and will never be that loud.

For example last season at the Organville double point......a guy came up to my car looked inside and said wow i'm not competing today even though he probably wouldnt be in my class.

I think the rules should be written out big and bold and posted some where so new guys and come and see what class they fit in. Then if they have any questions they can ask don or other vets.

That's where I may need some input during an event, again, even if first time competing and I don't win, I gain the experience. My gains, and how the system sounds currently, I've set/adjusted to sound just right to my ears. The attempt was to have SQ and a lot of bass at same time, sort of 50/50 of SQ/SPL.

Am sure there's some minor adjusting that could make things a bit cleaner, it would probably be a boring hobby if we weren't all constantly tinkering with settings though eh?

Big 3 will be done within the next month or so. Would my system be considered street stock, just due to wattage or ? Again, I'm not up on what the different competing classes are yet.

Current system was partially budget allowance, and mostly that I wanted to go old school, sort of recreating a $5000.00 system I had back in 1989/1990. Who knows, 1-2 years from now, I can see doing an expensive system, if I buy a second car to put it in, or to put my current system in. I can't give up the old school side of me!

exactly im sure theres somone in your town that has a termlab or somone near by were you can test before the show and tune everything in for you just for the show like for example my car was louder with the drivers seat all the way back but other cars are louder with both seats up

ya if you have a stock alternator that amount of watts single batt then you would be street stock and your also a rookie

do you have msn man ?
