I always hook up a meter. I didn't notice right away that it was reading negative voltage, but after it seemed slow to charge I did.
The idiot that put the stuff in (supposed professional, had used blue for ground, and silver for positive!
Thank God I was using a small resistor 'cause I misplaced my 8 ohm 20 watter! Coulda been typing this on a Braille keyboard today!

Ummm...k if that was you MTA then God will forgive you. Me....well it might take a while lol.
C'mon now....since I've been in the business (26 years now) copper has always been positive, and silver negative....
Never pays to assume tho eh? Was almost a blind ***.

well there are tons of arguments on that matter also... when both are in a clear jacket and side by side like speaker wire yes I would use the copper as positive... because it resembles more towards RED but you cant always say copper for positive because that would make it that you use anything other than copper for ground and would mean you always have a weak ground(with that tinned copper wire...there's got to be a better reason for that tinning of the copper wire rather than to save money on the copper itself and use cheaper products to give the same thickness... would that not be correct?) just a different way to look at it...but yes I do understand where you are coming from... just as, since price of copper has gone up substantially... and all the purchasers of copper wire have complained about the price increase... your 4 awg power wire is no longer a true 4 awg power wire but more like a 6 awg and now to correct the problem some more so people dont realize it...atleast the ones that are not aware of it... they tin the wire to make it thicker and to give it better apperance(yes Im guilty too I like blue...but will only buy the copper blue not tinned copper in blue even though it looks so much nicer)... aghhh forget it... why do I bother
