Why dont more people use the MTX RFL?
Im not going to get into this too much but I have seen the RFL in person, it is quite a piece of work. They do get loud and yes you can recone them fast. However most of the people that used RFL's have since changed woofers and have gone up in SPL by dB's, a couple of NW competitors that were using RFL's switched to different woofers and and saw immediate increases in SPL. Oh and if needed I can recone a woofer inbetween rounds anyday of the week, really its not that hard. As ShockingCanada stated most competetors that were loud with the RFL's did take off a few of the spiders.

hey if its easy... I wanna know too. Also, please tell me about anybody that has pulled it off under $10,000. I'll wait.. honestly it isnt that easy. the most I've seen and heard was 163 DB, and that was a little Firefly with a wall of 8, 15" subs. That was a company demo car, and logically, there is no way that car could have been built for less then $15K. That is, until you prove me wrong with your 170 DB stereo, using only one RFL
how bout this. i will use 1 rfl and 1 or 2 amps in a street vehicle (street B) and i will see what kind of numbers i can put out with it? i have a few months to play around with a box and stuff..... it will also be hard cause the coil config is dual 2 ohms. and i usually use dual .7ohm coils or even lower! so we'll have to see what happenes.
who thinks i can break a 150db ON the new termlab sensor?
oh ya this is just for fun!@ it would be kinda fun to try!

I can see it being a problem (150db on termlab)cause I know most of Livin Loud's amps need to be around 0.5 -0.25 ohms to produce good power...that was my first doubt when that woofer came out...it should have been a quad 2 at worst.
point 2- to back up Shocking and Northern..the Fs is way to high to use in anykind of street application... I would say tho..it looks impresive as hell and if you're in IDBL and in extreme class it'll play into upto 100hz really well

yeah, but what the heck is 100HZ? thats not even bass, bass to me is 70HZ and below. Every time a frequency is halfed (or is it halved?), the amount of travel the speakercone has to do, (excursion) has to double: in order to produce that frequency at the same volume level.. or am I wrong? I think thats how it goes, anyway. Thats why I think 150DB @ 100HZ is EASY, its 150 DB at 30 or 40 that I find very impressive.
