The hole point is that your brain can play tricks on what you hear.

The other point is that, ABX tests serve the purpous of isolating exactly what you are testing for, it insures that everything is controlled and the same exept for what you are testing. That is the scientific method.

It would be like saying that this one girl you sleep with is waaaay better in bed on Saturday nights then any other day of the week, and you specify that it is because it's saturday and for no other reason. Well if I wanted to test it out scientifically, I would make sure that she did everything the same everyday to ensure that the cause for this pillow extacy was indeed just the day of the week and nothing else.

However, I would come to find out that on saturdays she drinks alcohool.... of course I would tell her not to drink on saturday. We would then notice that she was the same as every other day in bed, at that point we would recognise that it wasnt the day that made her better in bed, but the licor!

Nope, I would just pound her everyday and not look back and wonder why.

 

another good example is if you've ever had a cell phone in your pocket, and you thought you felt it vibrate.. or thought you heard it ring.

 

my stereo sounds different to me depending on the weather and mood, but that's only because I'm running inferior equipment that degrades the sonic purity of the music that I can not enjoy.
