^Well hope you stick around!

Always wonder what happened to some of the guys that use to be here. Like amplified (Luke) or chev2 (David), chev2 just droped off the map.

Whatever happened to that crazy bmw build?

Btw, I would support going mono on each driver! I'll be heading that route shortly with tubes, but that in no way compares to your 5-way front stage.
I don't think of myself as excessive, I'm just never satisfied with "normal". :P

The BMW is now a racecar, which I've spent the past 2 years building. It's getting close to being finished, but I've already got a list of "upgrades" for winter 2009/2010. It never ends...

Sorry Adam, didn't mean to divert your thread.... hahahaha I'm interested to see which eight monoblocks you're planning on using to power those fancy drivers.

** correction... TEN monoblocks**
PLOW and Mr. Marco...cool cats...good to hear they are still kicking around.

Ah...I don't know that I'm going to dump all my existing amplification...but I will need to add to it. Still trying to figure out how to fit all this crap in the Tahoe...might need to scale back to a 4 way...

What amps you thinking of running?

I just bought a 6 channel Zapco DC reference, it is very nice indeed. A nice option with a good form factor

going active literally covers the car in cables though

I think I'm going the "stupid" power route; haven't done something like this before so I thought it would be fun. Of course when you are working with a Tahoe...you've got a bit of room to play with. :P

Not looking forward to the wiring, most of the stuff I had from the BMW is too short so I need a lot of new wire. Might run a solar panel array on the roof to help power it...

I'm serious.

i was actually thinking of that last summer ahhahahahaha but for 1.5 amp per panel and only fit 15 to 20 it wont help that much. and its only at 12 volt. would be great to keep the batts charge when the vehicle is off tho

Wow, from SQ to full out race? That's awesome! Competing or just for fun lapping?

I can't recall what amps you were running before... VRX? TRU? Those two seem to be caught in the back of my head for some reason. hahahhaa.

In the Tahoe, I don't think you should have any issues... unless of course you actually need to use the trunk. I'm not sure what you have in mind for sub operation but that could mean another amp or two for a grand total of 12 amps (if of course you do end up going with one amp per driver). :O

As for my amps, I've ended up with six Tube Driver 752 which I'll be bridging and running one per driver. I've always had a thing for TD's... originally owned the Butler versions, but I'll give these PPI versions a try.

BMW is a comp car...built to run Targa Newfoundland, and other race events.

New amps going in the Tahoe, but I've decided not to disclose what they are. This time I'm more concerned about output than pedigree...although there are no slouch in the build department. (Interconnect ect I won't be getting into either.) At some point I'll list how much power is going to each driver, but I haven't decided on all the amps yet. Settled on a 4 way front stage with 2 subs. (10 drivers) I'll probably have less than 10 amps, as some of them will be real power houses. The goal with this new install is huge amount of dynamic headroom.

Very cool choice of amps....those TDs should be sweet. (Although a bit warm in the summer)

Well, it's alright but it's only going to sound good (of course) if you cram it all into the a-pillars

Too much work...decided to mount everything in a wall across the back.

Guess I need to update the thread title to "Rear Stage" huh?

Don't worry...I'll mount a pair of speaker grills on the kicks....nobody will notice the sound coming from the back.
