Front Stage
I have an AC DQX sitting basically NIB from a prior firmware upgrade...but compared to the H900 capabilities, everything else pales....
Adam, get a quote on the Alpine......... and see what the damage is. If it's a lot of dough, look at some options. I can't really throw out anything idea wise as I've been out of the SQ loop as far as equipment goes for processing currently. But I'm sure someone is into something.
Has anyone done anything with computers .......... I would have thought with all the tech now available, someone would have a home computer installed in the car with an infinite number of bands for tuning in the digital format. The sound cards now available are pretty impressive. The rest is all programming and there's got to be some PRO audio software somewhere that could be used.

A Car-PC would be cool, but there's no way it would match the fidelity of the F1 piece. The H900 has 11 D/A converters that are to die for...they are the single most valuable part of the box.
I feel like my H900 has cancer....but there's got to be a way to save it!
For setup purposes, all I need is an H900 display for like 5 minutes. I wonder if I can find one to borrow...
Ok, I'm taling out of my azz as I have no idea what's involved with this technology, but is it possible to replace that display with another type of display or is the Alpine F1display the only type that can be used with this hardware??? Mind you, I would hazzard a guess that someone smarter then I at Alpine would have already thought of that............................
On another note, I finally put away the circus act that the Treo SSX 18 became.
People would come into the shop to see this thing bump free air. With a 25hz tone and some decent power, the entire 50lb driver would dance 2" in the air off the rubber mat I had it sitting on. The excursion on these is pretty insane...
I was thinking of trying these as a home theater sub, but I'm now afraid of what they would do to the structure of the house! LOL

There's gotta be some supplier to Alpine that they sourced the light from that can be tracked down. Might take a lot of work but it has to be possible some way. I would try everything reasonably possible because there still isn't a processor to rival the H900.
I'm willing to run the H900 via laptop for tuning, the main issue is I can't seem to select the optical #1 input to get a signal.
